Early in 2012, as the Presidential Election season was beginning to ramp up, a group of young patriot volunteers got together via Twitter and Facebook and created a new political organization. That organization was called “Resistance 44”. It was designed to form a counterweight to President Obama’s “Generation 44”. Founded by Justen Charters and Gabriella Hoffman, Resistance 44 aimed to use social media and pop culture to shape the narrative for the younger generation, and attempt to break through the mental shackles that the dominant statist agenda had imposed upon them.
After the re-election of President Obama, it became clear that we needed to re-brand. Where Resistance 44 had only people under 40 years of age in its membership, we opened up to all who wanted to stand against tyranny. Rebooting America grew out of this new re-branding. Although the name has changed, and some of our members have come and gone, our focus is much the same. We are here to engage the under 30 crowd through every medium at our disposal, and ensure that the liberal stranglehold on the younger population is shattered.
So, how does Rebooting America differ from other Conservative or Libertarian organizations? For one, through its emphasis on music, videos, parodies, satire, and memes; we will make full use of social networking to virally spread our message. We are not just another blog or news site, although written articles will certainly be a big part of what we do. Our goal is to entertain as well as inform.
Another thing which separates Rebooting America from the rest of the Right wing media is its dedication to mass public events. Events such as “Papa John’s Appreciation Day” and “Take Control of Gun Control Day” attracted tens of thousands of participants, and even the attention of the mainstream media. Such public displays of patriotism are essential to shock some the otherwise uninformed and complacent citizens into action.
So, in the next few months, expect to see some humorous and thought-provoking content of all kinds, as we build and grow this ambitious new project. And, of course, keep an eye out for our public events, as we start to build momentum behind our movement. By the next election cycle, we intend to be a dominant force in the new media, with the power to mobilize thousands of young conservative and libertarian voters to the polls, thereby denying the Left one of their traditional power bases for the first time in over a generation.
With your help, we may be able to turn back the tyrannical tide of statism. With your help, we may just be able to “reboot” America.
